Dear IPSO members,
Although times continue to be troubled by social and natural disasters, we greet you with excitement to share the events being organized within IPSO and that will be taking place throughout this year. Getting together to think and discuss in an environment that is open and encouraging of different points of view might not solve the complex situation we currently find ourselves in, but hopefully will help us further develop tools to face uncertainty, welcome diversity and continue deepening psychoanalytic thinking. These events have been coordinated by ExCom officers but are the result of the arduous efforts of members that conform the local planning committees, if you have any questions about any of the events below, please do not hesitate to contact us at ipso-mail@ipso.world. Also if you have an idea for a psychoanalytical event and would like IPSO to be a part of it, please reach out to your regional VP for more information at IPSO-Europe@ipso-candidates.org.uk , IPSO-LatinAmerica@ipso-candidates.org.uk , ipso-northAmerica@ipso-candidates.org.uk

PARIS IPSO STUDY DAY
Location: Paris, France
Date: 14-16 June 2024
Status: Registration is open, early bird discount ends on March 31
In a world afflicted by wars, the rise of totalitarianism and climate change, our work as analysts is challenged by our own personal anxieties about the future and its prospects. It is more important than ever to be able to resort to authenticity and the ability to ‘be there’ with the patient if we want the psychoanalytic treatment to help the patients. It is through our own analysis and the hope we might have found in it, that we are able to carry the treatment and provide the patient with trust. In this IPSO Study Day, there will be a series of clinical presentations with ensuing discussions and Jonathan Sklar will present a paper, sharing his experience and his approach to deeply listen to the metaphors in language to connect the anxieties of today with those of the past. You can register here.
